It’s been a long time since i blogged. I’ve been really busy with school work and some other stuff too. I’m really sorry about that and i promise to make amends.
During the period that i was on holidays,i decided to improve the formula for my hair butter; one of the products in my soon to be launched product line by God’s grace, by adding this wonderful oil… Sesame oil!
(PS; You can place your order for my 100% natural hair butter by calling 08189924214 or sending an e/mail to ; email@example.com)
I bought it while shopping for some raw materials for my products and i was lucky i found it. You’d be amazed to know that such a precious oil is not even as expensive as you’d thought it’d be! I got it for less than 2,000 Naira
I decided to do some research on this oil and i came up with these facts……
Sesame oil is a vegetable based oil that is often used for cooking, especially for Asian, Chinese, Southeast Asian and South Indian foods. Sesame oil is extracted from the sesame seed flower Sesamum. Botanically, the seed itself is known as Sesamum Indicum.
Sesame oil is also known as gingelly oil. It is highly nourishing, healing and lubricating. Other than being used as a flavor enhancing cooking oil, it has many beauty benefits too. Sesame oil is popularly used for hair growth and to maintain scalp health. It is enriched with Vitamin E, B complex, and minerals such as magnesium, calcium, phosphorus and protein that strengthens the hair from the roots and deeply nourishes. The oil also has many nutrients and several benefits for your hair.
Because sesame oil is high in antibacterials, it has a much longer shelf life than many other oils and is least likely to become rancid. This oil is great for healing dry and/or damaged hair and will leave your naturally kinky hair softer and much healthier.
The plentiful nutrients in Sesame oil, plus the protein nourishes and strengthens hair from the inside. Sesame oils has numerous benefits for hair, here are just some of them;
MINIMIZES THE APPEARANCE OF GREY HAIR
Massaging your hair with sesame oil can make it look darker. Sesame oil can prevent premature graying, retaining the natural color of your hair for longer. In fact, sesame oil has hair darkening properties. Regular use of this oil will help darken your hair while keeping it healthy.
PROMOTES HAIR GROWTH
Sesame oil nourishes the scalp and increases circulation, boosting hair growth. Because it penetrates the hair shaft and nourishes it from inside, any growth will be strong and healthy too. You can use the oil as a hot oil treatment to further boost hair health. The fatty acids in the oil will nourish the hair and scalp promoting healthy hair growth.
PROTECTS HAIR FROM SUN DAMAGE
Sesame oil acts as a natural sunscreen. Applying sesame oil to your scalp and hair prevents the potential hair damage that could occur during extended sun exposure. Sesame oil forms a protective coat around the hair shaft, keeping it safe from the harmful rays of the sun, It also saves your hair from the damaging effects of pollution by forming a protective barrier.
CAN BE USED AS A HEAT PROTECTANT
Sesame oil has soothing and tranquilizing properties. Harsh heat can be damaging to the hair follicles. Sesame oil acts as a coolant, working from within and nourishing the scalp from inside and out. Sesame oil locks the moisture within, thus preventing further damage.
TREATMENT OF HAIR LICE AND DANDRUFF
Regularly applying the oil to hair before shampooing has proven to be extremely beneficial for the same. Sesame oil is antibacterial and antifungal therefore using it on the scalp helps keep both fungal and bacterial infections at bay
Massaging sesame oil into your scalp every night, before bed, helps treat dandruff while soothing the scalp and preventing further aggravation.
TREATS DRY HAIR
A mixture of lemon juice and sesame oil applied to the hair and left on overnight works wonders for dry hair. If you apply the oil to your hair and wrap your hair in a hot wet towel for 30 minutes, this will also make the oil more effective in moisturising your dry hair. Say hello to hydrated hair.
It is very important to note that just using the oil to massage your hair is not a cure to dryness. Dryness is often caused by a lack of hydrating foods and liquids in your diet. Even though sesame oil nourishes the scalp and controls dryness, you need to employ extra measures to combat scalp dryness and dandruff. Drink plenty of water every day and include fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet. Be sure to eat lots of nuts and seeds that will tackle any deficiency of essential fatty acids.
